Emirati Officers Operate Drone Platforms Along Ethiopian Border Near Al-Kormuk

Local media reports in Ethiopia’s Benishangul-Gumuz Region, citing eyewitnesses from border communities, have reported notable military activity involving administrative officials and officers holding Emirati nationality, along with technical teams of various foreign nationalities, inside a site belonging to the Ethiopian Army.

According to accounts from residents of villages along the Ethiopian border with Sudan’s Al-Kormuk area, these groups are overseeing the operation and preparation of a platform designated for launching drones inside the military site. Witnesses said they had observed the foreign technicians moving continuously in trucks and vehicles manufactured in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The reports indicated that Ethiopian Army personnel and recruits are providing logistical support at the site, including loading and unloading operations and securing supply lines and services for the technical teams stationed in the area.

The reports come as the shared border areas are witnessing continued military surveillance and heightened alert.
