UAE Expels Hemedti’s Son

Security authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) detained Murtada Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, the son of Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti,” in the capital Abu Dhabi last August (2026).

A source told Eyewitness Platform that the detention of the RSF commander’s son, who is about 18 years old, was related to a drug case involving an estimated value of millions of dirhams. He was detained along with several other individuals. According to the accounts, the official proceedings ended with a decision to deport him from the UAE to Malaysia, in a move taken to avoid any further legal repercussions or media leaks concerning the case.

The source added that the RSF commander later intervened directly and personally in the case involving his son, resulting in arrangements for his transfer from Malaysia to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

Earlier media reports had said that several of “Hemedti’s” sons had been detained in the UAE over a financial case linked to a gold deal, before they were later deported to Nyala in Sudan, according to those reports.
