200 RSF Fighters, Led by Its North Kordofan Intelligence Commander, Join the Sudanese Army

 

A group of around 200 fighters announced on Monday their defection from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and their decision to join the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).

 

 

 

 

The group, led by Abu Bakr Hamouda Dahloub, the RSF intelligence commander in North Kordofan State, arrived in Omdurman, Khartoum State, where they were received by forces from the Sudanese Army and the Revolutionary Awakening Council, led by tribal leader Musa Hilal.

 

 

 

 

The group’s decision to join the army comes amid a growing number of defections from the RSF, with groups of its fighters moving to areas under army control and announcing their alignment with the SAF.

 

 

 

Most recently, two groups surrendered themselves in the Northern State during the past three weeks.

 

 

 

The group announced that it had joined the army with its full armament and was ready to take part in combat operations alongside the SAF, the Joint Force, and other supporting forces to drive what it described as the “rebel militia” out of the remaining areas where it continues to spread destruction and chaos.

 

 

 

 

Abu Bakr Dahloub, the commander of the defecting group, told SUNA that they had realized the mistake of being drawn into what he called the “evil mini-state project” pursued by the Dagalo family militia. He affirmed their alignment with the national ranks and their readiness to fight for the demands of the Sudanese people and to eliminate the RSF militia.

 

 

 

He praised the efforts of leaders who had preceded them in joining the ranks of the Sudanese Armed Forces, including Al-Nour Quba, Al-Safana, and Musa Khamsin, among others. He said the group would contribute to exposing what he described as the externally backed project of the militia while also taking part in efforts to defeat it on the battlefield.

 

 

 

 

Dahloub also highlighted the efforts of the leaders and forces who assisted the group in reaching Khartoum, including the Sudanese Armed Forces, the General Intelligence Service, the Joint Force, and the Revolutionary Awakening Council. He called on leaders and fighters still serving within the RSF to leave the militia without delay and join the Sudanese national project.
