Al-Burhan Awards Egyptian Ambassador Order of the Two Niles, First Class

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, (RSF) General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, awarded Egypt’s Ambassador to Sudan, Hani Salah, the Order of the Two Niles, First Class, marking the end of his tenure in Sudan.

Speaking to the press after meeting Al-Burhan, Salah said he was pleased to be received at the same location where he had presented his credentials four years ago.

He said the restoration of the Republican Palace represented a symbol of national sovereignty, noting that Sudan faces numerous challenges but has also achieved significant successes and accomplishments, foremost among them the restoration of the country’s symbol of sovereignty—the Republican Palace.

The Egyptian ambassador added that the Order of the Two Niles was not an honor bestowed upon him personally, but rather an honor for the Arab Republic of Egypt, underscoring the longstanding and historic ties between the two brotherly peoples.

Salah said that during the meeting he delivered a written message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his brother, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, concerning the advancement and development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He said the Egyptian president reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Sudan during the critical period it is currently going through.

Salah added that, in his new position as Assistant Egyptian Foreign Minister for Sudan and South Sudan Affairs, he would work to build on what had been accomplished over the past period, expressing hope that the next phase would be one of peace, reconstruction and rebuilding.
