Atoro Rebels Overrun SPLM-N and RSF Forces in Kauda

Members of the Atoro community resistance seized a number of combat vehicles belonging to the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, and the Dagalo-affiliated Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, following the withdrawal of SPLM-N forces from Kauda.

Sources in Kauda told the Shahid Ayan (Eyewitness) Platform that the Atoro fighters, who have long confronted what they described as the policies of al-Hilu and his allies, succeeded in establishing control on the ground and capturing several military vehicles while pursuing the retreating forces.

The sources said the developments demonstrate the resilience of the Atoro community and its determination to remain on its land, stressing that “Atoro’s land is resistant to any external project or attempt to impose guardianship over it.”
