RSF Force Ambushed in Desert, Entire Unit Captured
A force affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia was caught in a carefully coordinated ambush by the Joint Forces and Popular Resistance, in coordination with Jumbo Saulo forces, while attempting to reach scattered RSF personnel in the desert following airstrikes that destroyed a significant portion of its military equipment.
According to field sources, the entire force was captured. Verification of the detainees’ identities revealed that some of those arrested had actively participated in the fighting and events in El-Fasher.
The sources said the Joint Forces and Popular Resistance continue to pursue fleeing RSF personnel across desert areas, while authorities are conducting further identification and screening of those captured. Field operations are ongoing to track down remaining scattered elements in the area.
*Restrictions on Funeral Tents Reported in Darfur*
Meanwhile, the RSF militia has imposed restrictions on the establishment of funeral tents in a number of towns and villages across Darfur.
Local sources quoted by the Shahid Ayan (Eyewitness) Platform said the families of those killed had been warned against setting up funeral tents or holding public funeral gatherings following the losses suffered by RSF formations operating in the desert.
According to the sources, the restrictions were imposed out of concern that the number of casualties could negatively affect the morale of newly mobilized fighters, as well as fears that funeral ceremonies could discourage local residents from joining mobilization efforts or participating in the fighting.
