Army Destroys by Ambush a Force Attempting to Infiltrate Near El Obeid

The Sudanese Armed Forces thwarted an attempted advance and infiltration on Sunday by a force affiliated with the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia in North Kordofan State, successfully destroying the force and completely eliminating its military equipment.

Military and field sources told Al-Onwan 24 that the Sudanese Armed Forces successfully set up a well-planned ambush and surrounded the advancing force approximately 60 kilometers from the city of El Obeid.

The clashes resulted in the destruction of all military vehicles and combat equipment carried by the infiltrating force.

The sources confirmed that the military operation achieved its objectives in full, securing the axis and foiling the rebel militia’s attempt to approach the security perimeter of El-Obeid, while restoring complete stability to the surrounding area.
