New Ethiopian Involvement in Supporting the Attack on Ghesan

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) repelled a large-scale military attack targeting the town of Ghesan in Blue Nile State, launched from Ethiopian territory, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment on the attacking force.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese Air Force destroyed 15 militia combat vehicles in the vicinity of Geissan.

The Shahid Ayan “Eyewitness Platform” quoted field sources as saying that the Fourth Infantry Division in Damazin and Al-Naba Al-Yaqeen “Certain News” mobile force succeeded in repelling the joint attack led by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and forces affiliated with Joseph Toka, with the participation of groups of Ethiopian and South Sudanese mercenaries.

The sources confirmed that the resounding defeat suffered by the attacking force resulted in large numbers of wounded and injured Rapid Support Forces members being transferred to the Ethiopian “Assosa” Hospital, which became completely overcrowded. Additional numbers of wounded were also transported to the Benishangul area as a result of the fierce fighting.

The Ghesan Locality Government in the Blue Nile Region had said on Tuesday that an alliance between the militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North, led by Abdelaziz Al-Hilu, had launched a violent attack on the locality headquarters, noting that the army and supporting forces were still fighting fiercely along the Ghesan axes.
Meanwhile, media platforms in the Blue Nile Region reported that militia elements had managed to reach the main Ghesan market before completely looting it, opening fire on civilians and burning civilians’ homes.
