Surge in Sudan’s Gold Exports Over Six Months
Prime Minister Professor Kamel Idris met with Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Daim Taha, who said in a press statement that the meeting discussed the Ministry’s efforts to develop the mining sector and ensure oversight of gold production, in addition to the Ministry’s policies for regulating traditional mining and managing the various mineral markets.
The Minister added that the meeting addressed the significant increase in gold exports in recent periods as a result of policies adopted by the Ministry. Gold exports have undergone a major transformation, reaching over the past six months a level equivalent to the country’s total gold exports for the whole of 2025.
He noted that this surge resulted from the increased flow of gold exports through official channels, in addition to precautionary measures implemented at various levels.
The Minister of Minerals said that the Prime Minister expressed a high level of understanding and support for the Ministry, praising the substantial efforts it has been making across its various areas of work.
