Foreign Mercenaries Killed and Injured in Fire Set by RSF Militia in Abu Zabad
A number of foreign mercenaries affiliated with the RSF militia were killed or injured after militia members set fire to a large gathering shelter in Abu Zabad, West Kordofan.
The shelter, made of thatch and wood, was occupied by a large number of foreign mercenaries who had gathered there. The fire spread rapidly through the highly flammable structure, resulting in heavy casualties, including deaths and injuries.
The incident was not the first targeting of foreign mercenaries in Abu Zabad. A similar incident previously occurred at a local school, where a classroom being used as a base by the mercenaries was destroyed while they were inside.
The incidents reflect growing tensions and internal conflict between local RSF elements and foreign fighters operating in the area.
Arrangements are underway to transfer the bodies of those killed and evacuate the wounded across the border to their respective countries, amid a tight information blackout imposed by the militia’s local leadership.
