Sudanese Army Deploys Major Reinforcements to Secure Strategic Export Road

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have deployed major military reinforcements to secure the vital Export Road linking Kordofan with the capital, Khartoum, following a drone attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on the Om Qarfa area in North Kordofan State.

A military source said the attack took place on Sunday, days after the Sudanese Army regained control of the area and reopened the strategic route, which had remained closed since the outbreak of the war in April 2023.

The source added that the army dispatched additional forces to the area to protect the vital corridor and ensure the security of movement along the route, which serves as a key link between the Kordofan region and Khartoum.

Meanwhile, the same sources said the Sudanese Army carried out strikes against RSF positions in the cities of Al-Nohod and Al-Khuwai in West Kordofan State.

The sources noted that the army has continued targeting militia positions since regaining control of the Export Road, with the aim of disrupting forces preparing to attack army positions in North Kordofan.
