Al-Burhan Bans Military Vehicles and Supporting Forces from Mining Areas

General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), chaired a meeting of the Security and Defense Council, which reviewed the overall security situation in the country, assessed the progress of military operations, and discussed measures aimed at strengthening security and stability.

The Council congratulated the Sudanese Armed Forces, other regular forces, supporting forces, and the Sudanese people on the victories achieved across various fronts. It also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in defense of the nation, wished a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured, and expressed hope for the release of captives and the return of those reported missing.

The Council reviewed the preparedness of the Sudanese Armed Forces, the regular forces, and the supporting forces, reaffirming their readiness to defend the country and safeguard its security and sovereignty. It also examined the challenges facing national security and adopted a number of decisions aimed at strengthening the rule of law and combating organized crime.

Among the key decisions, the Council approved the establishment of special courts to handle cases involving drug-related crimes, human trafficking, arms smuggling, and gold smuggling.

The Council also prohibited members of the regular forces and supporting forces from operating in mining areas and ordered the confiscation of military weapons and combat vehicles found in violation of the directive.

The Security and Defense Council reaffirmed the state’s commitment to continuing all necessary measures to protect national security, strengthen the rule of law, and counter all security threats in a manner that preserves the country’s stability and safeguards its citizens.
