Hemedti Acknowledges Defeat in Kordofan, Blames Collapse on Corruption, Betrayal, and Collusion

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti” has acknowledged a major military setback and the severe losses suffered by his forces on the North Kordofan front, rejecting claims that the developments were merely a “redeployment” and attributing the rapid battlefield collapse to internal betrayals, corruption, injustice, and changing positions by regional allies.

According to sources close to Dagalo, he made the remarks during a closed briefing following the loss of the front, as reported by the Shahid Ayan platform. He was quoted as saying: “We should not talk about redeployment; we failed and must be clear. There are countries that betrayed us.”

Dagalo claimed that extensive intelligence breaches had disrupted his forces’ supply lines, accusing regional figures, including the Chadian army chief of staff “Kaka,” the Kenyan president, and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, of “playing both sides.” He also alleged that the coordinates of paid-for weapons shipments were leaked to Sudanese military intelligence and the air force, which then targeted and destroyed them before their arrival.

Hemedti further accused senior RSF commanders, including Al-Nour Quba, of providing the Sudanese Army’s intelligence with the exact locations of weapons and ammunition depots. He expressed concern over the advance of Sudanese Armed Forces and Joint Forces units toward the strategic city of Nyala, concluding: “We failed because of betrayal, corruption, and our injustice toward the people.”
