Hemedti’s Adviser Defects, Surrenders to Government

Sources told Shahed Ayan platform that Ibrahim Younis, an adviser to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, has defected and officially surrendered to the Sudanese government.

Reports indicated that the defection was driven by widespread discontent among fighters from the Messeiriya tribe, who accused the militia leadership of colluding with South Sudan over the disputed Abyei issue.

According to the same sources, Younis’s move could pave the way for a broader wave of defections, as other tribal members within the militia are now considering withdrawing from the fighting in the coming period due to escalating internal disputes over issues of significance to the tribe.
