Army Forces Advance, Regain Control of Bara, Jabra-Al-Sheikh and Om Siala
Military and field sources affiliated with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Saturday major strategic gains on the fronts of North Kordofan State, including the full recapture of the strategic city of Bara, the key area of Om Siala, and Jabrat-Al-Sheikh, alongside successful operations around El-Obeid.
Sources told Sudanese Echoes that the SAF, backed by supporting forces, engaged in fierce and large-scale clashes at dawn across the Bara front, Sudan’s second-largest city in the state. The confrontations resulted in the deaths of hundreds of attacking fighters and the destruction of their equipment, with the remaining forces fleeing and being pursued on the outskirts of the city.
In the broadest field operation after a period of relative calm, the army regained full control of Om Siala, in Bara locality, and pushed the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) elements out of the area. Army units immediately began extensive mopping-up operations towards the city of Bara.
