European Parliament Calls for RSF Designation as Terrorist Organization
Members of the European Parliament called on European Union member states to add the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to the list of terrorist organizations and hold those responsible for their actions accountable.
The lawmakers strongly condemned the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Sudan, particularly the atrocities taking place during the ongoing siege of El Obeid by the RSF.
Members of the European Parliament also condemned any foreign intervention that fuels the war and called on countries to halt all forms of support for the RSF militia, particularly through arms supplies.
They further urged EU member states to increase humanitarian assistance to Sudan and provide direct funding to local organizations on the ground, including those operating in the medical sector.
