Sudanese Army Liberates Abu Sorouj Near El Geneina in West Darfur

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have made a strategic advance on the West Darfur front, successfully liberating the area of Abu Sorouj following fierce battles against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

Located approximately 30 kilometers north of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State, the capture of Abu Sorouj places the army in a strategically advantageous position close to the city, amid reports of a collapse in the opposing forces’ defenses.

Field sources said the Armed Forces are continuing clearance operations to secure the area and establish new forward positions, paving the way for further advances toward their next objectives.
