Army Thwarts Imminent Attack on Dilling and Inflicts Heavy Losses on Attacking Forces

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia targeted the city of Dilling in South Kordofan State on Tuesday morning with a number of drones, causing material damage to civilian buildings, without recording any injuries among residents, according to eyewitnesses and military sources speaking to “Al Taghyeer.”

Witnesses in the city told “Al Taghyeer” that suicide drones struck various neighborhoods in the city early in the morning. They indicated that the drones caused damage to some homes, with no civilian casualties reported so far.

For its part, military sources from the 54th Infantry Brigade told “Al Taghyeer” that their forces had detected positions of RSF and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N) forces in the vicinity of Dilling, which were preparing to launch an attack on the city.

The source added: “Our forces engaged the hostile targets, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment, and forcing them to retreat from the city’s outskirts.”

The Sudanese Armed Forces accuse the RSF–SPLM-N alliance of deliberately targeting civilians with drones and heavy artillery in order to force them to leave the city.
