Army Liberates Selei’a and Jabal Moon as Fierce Battles Rage on the Outskirts of El Geneina
Converging field and military sources reported widespread collapses and the mass flight of commanders of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia from El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State, toward Nyala in South Darfur, under the pressure of the Sudanese Armed Forces’ and the Joint Force’s rapid military advance along the strategic western axis.
Sources quoted by Al Onwan 24 channel said fierce and intense battles erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the militia on the outskirts of El Geneina. The Armed Forces succeeded in breaching the militia’s defenses and advancing to the Selei’a area, located only 38 kilometers from the state capital, after securing full control of the strategic Jabal Moon area and continuing their ground advance.
In a related development, the sources confirmed the arrival of substantial and specialized military reinforcements belonging to the Sudanese Armed Forces in the town of Kulbus following its complete capture and securing, with the aim of supporting ongoing offensive operations and consolidating control over the recaptured positions.
Meanwhile, soldiers of the Sudanese Armed Forces and members of the Joint Force sent what they described as decisive messages from the front lines, affirming that military operations would not stop at the borders of West Darfur State and that the forces would continue their ground advance toward the cities of El Fasher and Nyala with the objective of fully clearing the Darfur region.
These rapidly unfolding battlefield developments reflect a significant shift in the military balance of power in the region, amid expectations that fighting will intensify in the coming hours as the army advances toward the heart of El Geneina.
