Armed Clashes in Port Sudan; Police Reveal Details
The Red Sea State Security Committee announced that two armed men were killed and two members of the Counter-Narcotics Force were injured, while a police vehicle was destroyed by fire during violent clashes that erupted following a raid on a drug network’s hideout in Libya Market.
The operation led to the disruption of the group’s activities. The committee said the members of the network had impersonated regular forces by wearing military uniforms.
The State Security Committee affirmed that strict decisions had been taken to reinforce the rule of law and enforce rigorous legal measures, while dismissing rumours circulating on social media as unfounded.
