Four-Way Meeting in Cairo Seeks Unified International Vision on Sudan Crisis
A high-level four-party meeting was held in the Egyptian capital Cairo, bringing together the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey, along with a senior adviser to the US President for Arab and African affairs, to discuss forming a unified regional and international approach to ending the escalating crisis in Sudan.
The meeting included Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel-Aatty, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and US Presidential Senior Adviser Massad Boulos.
Diplomatic sources said discussions focused on efforts behind the scenes to merge multiple Sudan peace initiatives into a single coordinated international framework. The participants emphasized the need for an urgent humanitarian truce to protect civilians, paving the way for a comprehensive political process driven by Sudanese ownership and will.
The meeting also reaffirmed support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while rejecting any attempts to establish parallel governing structures outside the country’s official institutions.
