Police Clarify Presence of Military Formations Inside Capital

The police have announced the successful implementation of its plan to completely clear the capital of all irregular military formations, affirming that the presence of any limited elements within the city is now linked only to administrative procedures or medical treatment.

Police spokesperson, Brigadier General Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Toum, said in an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera that the Committee for Enforcing State Authority has been carrying out its duties firmly, working to end armed appearances and remove any military formations outside the official regular security structure, as part of a strategic plan aimed at enhancing internal security, stability, and citizen protection.

In response to questions regarding the continued presence of some elements in scattered areas, he explained that the remaining individuals do not constitute combat formations, but are instead subject to specific administrative and coordination procedures, or are receiving medical care in hospitals and health centres.

The police spokesperson stressed that security and executive agencies continue to implement the decisions of the sovereign committee to ensure the rule of law and restore normal life by eliminating any unregulated armed presence within residential and vital areas of the capital.
