Food and Medical Trucks Reach Dilling After Army Opens Eastern Road
Civilian trucks carrying food and medical supplies have continued arriving for the second consecutive day in the town of Dilling, following the Sudanese army’s reopening of the eastern road and the lifting of a siege on the area.
Volunteer activist Musa Idris told Ultra Sudan that several trucks entered the town, noting that the deliveries helped ease prices in a market suffering from severe shortages of food and medicine due to a partial blockade imposed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North.
Idris urged the army to secure the route, describing it as a “lifeline” for civilians facing a complex humanitarian and health crisis, and called on local and international humanitarian organizations to urgently deliver aid to the town.
The Sudanese army had earlier announced on Monday that it had broken the siege on Dilling for the third time since the beginning of the year, enabling it to support its forces stationed there and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to affected civilians.
