Fierce Clashes Erupt Between Nuer Mercenaries and RSF Militia in West Kordofan

Mohamed Didan, spokesperson for the Special Operations Forces in West Kordofan, said clashes erupted between Nuer fighters led by William Yak Yak and Misseriya elements fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in West Kordofan.

In a post on his Facebook page, Didan said the fighting resulted in the destruction of 21 vehicles, the killing of more than 100 fighters, and dozens of injuries on both sides.

He attributed the clashes to an attempt by a group of Nuer fighters to withdraw toward South Sudan with RSF vehicles and equipment following losses they sustained around Dilling.
