Tajani Sisi Accuses U.S. Envoy of Working for the United Arab Emirates, Backs Internal Dialogue

Dr. Tajani Sisi, head of the National Movement Forces, has stated that resolving the Sudanese crisis requires the launch of a genuine “Sudanese–Sudanese” dialogue, preceded by preparatory steps aimed at creating a conducive political environment and building trust among the various parties.

Speaking during a gathering at the residence of Unionist figure Dr. Ali Al-Sharif Al-Hindi in Cairo, Sisi said that reaching a comprehensive settlement requires specialized workshops to address the root causes of the crisis. He noted that African Union efforts to bring political forces together at one table had not achieved the desired success “for known reasons,” adding that some of the meetings held were closer to “social gatherings” than serious political dialogue.

Sisi further stated that regional and international interventions in the Sudanese file have become extensive and have directly influenced the positions of political forces, pointing to multiple initiatives, including the Quad framework and a new Quintet led by the African Union.

He argued that the most appropriate mechanism to support settlement efforts would be the creation of a joint international and regional umbrella including the African Peace and Security Council and the Arab League, stressing that the lack of trust among parties remains a major obstacle to any political progress.

Sisi revealed that he had received an invitation to participate in the Berlin meetings but declined, explaining that he had reservations about sitting with the “Ta’asis” group, which he said would grant it political legitimacy and representation that, in his view, does not reflect the true stakeholders.

He also criticized what he described as the growing external interference in Sudanese affairs, saying that the U.S. administration and the American president “do not have direct interests in Sudan.” He added that U.S. envoy Massad Boulos, in his opinion, “works for the United Arab Emirates.”
