Government moves to recover funds smuggled abroad by RSF Militia
A government committee tasked with pursuing international legal action against the Dagalo militia and its backers has finalised plans to recover assets and funds plundered and transferred abroad.
The committee, chaired by Justice Minister Abdullah Dirif, focused on activating legal mechanisms to trace and reclaim illicit funds through international judicial channels.
It also endorsed pursuing regional and international litigation against states accused of supporting the militia, to hold them accountable before international courts and legal bodies.
Officials stressed continued efforts to track and prosecute militia members and affiliates abroad, stating that the initiative aims to cut off terrorism financing and recover public funds, in coordination with legal experts to ensure the effectiveness of these cases internationally.
