Wali of Khartoum State Launches Surveillance Camera Project at Border Crossings
Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman Hamza, announced a project to install modern surveillance cameras at border crossings connecting the state with other Sudanese states, as part of a comprehensive security plan.
The announcement came during a field visit by the State Security Coordination Committee to the Soba West crossing linking Khartoum and Al-Gezira. The visit reviewed security measures and stressed strict adherence to regulations governing the movement of vehicles and goods.
The Wali said the project is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and regulate transit operations. He emphasized providing logistical and technical support to personnel to improve monitoring, detect potential threats, and ensure compliance with legal procedures, including vehicle ownership verification.
He also called for tighter oversight of official documents, particularly for individuals in military uniform, and closer monitoring of transported goods to prevent illegal use.
