After Three-Year Halt: Chemotherapy Services Resume at Khartoum’s Oncology Hospital

Cancer patients welcomed encouraging news following the resumption of chemotherapy services at the Khartoum Oncology Hospital. The first chemotherapy dose has now been administered inside the hospital, marking the restoration of the service after more than three years of suspension.

Hospital officials confirmed that the service has resumed under full operational readiness, with medications prepared inside a fully sterilized Safety Cabinet, in accordance with approved medical standards to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare personnel.

The service is being delivered under the supervision of the Director-General of the hospital, Professor Ahmed Omar Abdullah, with the participation of a specialized medical team of oncologists, pharmacists and nurses.

Resuming chemotherapy represents a significant step toward restoring treatment services at the facility following extensive efforts by hospital administration to secure essential medications and prepare an appropriate clinical environment.

Professor Ahmed Omar Abdullah affirmed that work will continue to expand and improve treatment services, helping ease the suffering of cancer patients and ensuring the provision of care in a safe and integrated medical environment.
