Sudanese Armed Forces Repel Militia Attacks Near Kormuk — Blue Nile Region

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) repelled two surprise attacks launched by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia elements, reportedly backed by fighters from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement faction, in the areas of Kormuk and Al-Silk in southern Blue Nile State, military sources said.

According to the sources, SAF units inflicted heavy human losses on the attacking forces near Kormuk and in the Al-Silk area during the confrontations.

The sources reported that militia forces launched an early morning assault on Al-Silk on Sunday using a column of 32 combat vehicles. The attacking force was fully neutralized, with no survivors reported, and all participating vehicles destroyed.

They further stated that SAF drones pursued retreating elements up to the South Sudan border, killing large numbers of fighters during the chase.
