Sudanese Government Proposes Investment Partnership in Sudanair to Saudi Arabia
The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Saif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani, received the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, at his office in Port Sudan to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between Sudan and Saudi Arabia in the fields of infrastructure and transport, and to support efforts to rebuild areas destroyed by the war.
The meeting focused on developing partnerships in maritime and land transport, railways, ports, logistics zones, and civil aviation. Minister Al-Tijani emphasized Sudan’s interest in giving priority to Saudi companies to contribute to reconstruction projects, particularly in railway development, port expansion, while strengthening technical communications and forming joint committees to facilitate project implementation.
The meeting also explored opportunities for partnership in developing Sudan Airways through technical and investment collaboration with Saudi companies, as part of the plan to rebuild the national carrier.
Both sides highlighted plans to organize a specialized workshop in February for Saudi companies interested in investing in Sudan’s infrastructure and transport projects, alongside preparations for several conferences and meetings on reconstruction in the coming period.
