RSF Militia Drones Falling in Nyala Raise Concern in the City
Over the past week, the city of Nyala has witnessed a series of incidents involving the crash of training drones belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, causing widespread fear and anxiety among residents who are unaccustomed to seeing such small aircraft flying and falling within residential neighborhoods in broad daylight.
Eyewitnesses reported that one of the drones was seen last Wednesday flying over the city before plunging onto Al-De’ain Street near the RSF’s Military Police headquarters and the Yashfin Specialized Clinic. Forces quickly closed the street and redirected traffic coming from the Grand Market and Jabal Market.
In another incident, militia members shot down a second drone in Al-Imdad neighbourhood in the city center after it was observed flying above them, while a third drone fell on Thursday morning on Railway Street without causing any damage.
A military source within the militia claimed that these drones were intended for training purposes for war students, emphasizing that they carried no explosives. However, local residents expressed concern over the recurrence of such incidents, considering the situation unusual and voicing fears over potential future damage.
