After Retaking from Ethiopian Occupation… Replanning of 754,000 Feddans in Al-Fashaga
The Director of the Mechanized Agricultural Corporation in Al-Gadarif State, Abu Al-Gasim Abdullah, revealed that an area of 754,000 feddans along the border strip has entered the implementation phase following the advancement of the armed forces in the region and its recapture from the Ethiopian occupation. He confirmed that the lands will be replanned and subsequently distributed to eligible farmers in the coming period.
He emphasized, after the expansion of mechanized agriculture north of the Grazing Line, the necessity of preserving Al-Batana pastoral area. However, he noted that vast areas are being cultivated according to patterns imposed by climate changes, extending up to Al-Subagh area.
He stated that the agricultural areas registered under mechanized agriculture amount to 7.6 million feddans, and with the addition of the lands recovered from the Ethiopian side, the total cultivated area will reach 8.4 million feddans.
He confirmed the Corporation’s commitment to the development and advancement of the agricultural sector, providing advisory services, soil testing, and establishing agricultural roads, in addition to training mechanized agriculture staff on digital transformation.
He also pointed to the renewal of 3.4 million feddans, calling on farmers to renew their agricultural projects so that they can return as services benefiting the farming sector and the state community.
