Agar arrives in Juba… Salva Kiir is to soon be in Khartoum

Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Counciln (TSC), Malik Agar, has arrived in Juba, South Sudan, on an official visit to discuss bilateral relations and ways to enhance prospects for joint cooperation.

Agar met with South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

The meeting touched on the latest political and military developments in Sudan, as well as the humanitarian situation and the siege of steadfast El-Fashir.

Agar explained that he briefed Salva Kiir on the significant progress made by the armed forces and their continued efforts to eradicate the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

TSC Vice-President added that the meeting also addressed the position of Sudan and international and regional organizations rejecting the formation of the so-called parallel government of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia and its political allies.

Agar said that the meeting reviewed the issue of activating the work of the joint ministerial committees between the two countries, particularly the political and security committees, as well as issues of concern to citizens in both countries, mainly the refugee crisis caused by the war. He stated that he extended an invitation to President Salva Kiir to visit Sudan, who expressed his consent, provided that arrangements would be made through diplomatic channels later.

For his part, Salva Kiir affirmed his country’s commitment to supporting stability in Sudan and continuing cooperation between the two countries.
