Arrangements to evacuate Khartoum from military presence…and deploy cameras and drones to secure it
The Security and State Prestige Committee in Khartoum State, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Minister of Interior Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra, heard reports on the efforts of the committee to implement directives to evacuate the capital from military formations and identify troop assembly and deportation sites.
The Secretary-General of the Khartoum Government, according to the (Police Press Office), presented a report on the plan to remove informal housing and the committee’s plan to remove (72) informal housing centers within Khartoum State, confirming the committee’s continued work in implementing demolition plans and encroachment on government land.
For his part, the Director of Khartoum State Police, Lt. Gen. (Police) Amir Abdel-Moneim, Chairman of the Crossings Security Committee and Central Chamber, explained that sufficient forces have been deployed to secure the crossings, along with the operation of the command and control Chamber and the deployment of surveillance cameras to secure the capital. Drones are also being used in the security operation.
The refugee representative and Chairman of the Foreigners and Refugees Committee also provided an explanation of the committee’s efforts to identify and deport refugees to the states of Kassala, Al-Gadarif, and White Nile.
