(Militia Drone Operator) in the Hands of Authorities in Port Sudan

The General Directorate of Passports and Immigration in Port Sudan announced the arrest of one of the most dangerous element of the rebel militia, a specialist in operating drones, while attempting to collect a new passport he had applied for inside Sudan from Uganda.

A well-informed source from the Directorate’s criminal unit, who preferred to remain anonymous, revealed that the arrested individual was closely monitored throughout the process of completing the passport issuance procedures in Port Sudan.

The source indicated that investigations proved his affiliation with the rebel militia and his receipt of advanced training outside Sudan in operating drones.

The source stated that the arrest was made after a well-planned ambush, coordinated among several security units, immediately after receiving information about the suspect’s identity and security threat. It was discovered that he was involved in sensitive cases related to the use of drone technology in hostile activities.

According to available information, the arrested individual entered Sudan from Uganda and traveled to the Red Sea State with the intention of obtaining a new electronic passport, possibly using a forged identity or falsified information. This prompted the Passports Department to intensify its monitoring of the movement of foreigners and requests for official documents.

The General Directorate of Passports and Immigration had previously announced that it had arrested a number of suspects and wanted individuals inside and outside Sudan who had attempted to infiltrate through the electronic passport portal.

The Directorate confirmed that the Lists and Bans Department works closely with the Field Follow-up Department of the Foreigners Unit to monitor all procedures.

The Directorate disclosed that it had already recovered a number of individuals wanted by Interpol after tracking them through passport requests through Sudanese consulates abroad. This reflects the effectiveness of regional and international security coordination in pursuing dangerous individuals.
