After a fierce battle, SAF inflicts a crushing defeat on RSF militia in El-Fashir

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia launched heavy shelling on El-Fashir, North Darfur, coinciding with renewed fighting, forcing those in charge of the charitable kitchens (Takaya) providing food to thousands of stranded people to halt operations.

Local sources reported that El-Fashir witnessed violent clashes between the militia and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in the northern and eastern parts, in which all types of weapons were used.

They pointed out that the militia launched intensive shelling using artillery and drones on civilian and military sites belonging to the army and the joint force, before the forces launched a ground attack along the Malit Gate hub adjacent to the Abu Shouk camp, in addition to the vicinity of El-Fashir’s Grand Market.

The sources reported that SAF and allied groups repelled the attack.

Witnesses reported that SAF artillery, launched from its bases west of the city, shelled militia positions east, south, and west of El-Fashir, resulting in large smoke billows and powerful explosions.
