The so-called civil administration of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Central Darfur State prevented the state’s students from going to Kosti in the White Nile and Atbara in the Nile River to sit for the Sudanese certificate exams.
The government had decided to establish secondary school certificate exam centers, scheduled to be held on December 28, for Darfur students in refugee camps in Chad and the states of the Nile River, the Northern, Kassala, Al-Gadarif, West and North Kordofan.
The Minister of Education in the RSF Civil Administration in Central Darfur, Al-Dawai Ahmed, in a decision according to “Darfur 24”, prevented the state’s students from traveling to Kosti and Atbara to sit for the Sudanese certificate exams.
The militia official threatened students and teachers with legal prosecution if they contacted the government’s Ministry of Education.
