Sudan Foreign Minister: RSF Militia talk about opening airports in Darfur (daydreams) .. We will close (Adre) crossing in this case

Sudanese Echoes – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Sudan Hussein Awad said that the insurgent Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia talk about opening airports in Darfur (daydreams).
The minister said, in a television interview with ( Sudanese Echoes) that the opening of the Adre border crossing with Chad was done in accordance with specific controls and known commitments by all parties. The Foreign Minister threatened that the government would close the crossing if these controls were violated.
The Sudanese Foreign Minister described the statements of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, regarding his welcome of the RSF militia’s commitments to adopt new rules of conduct pertinent to the protection of civilians, with the US Secretary of State’s confirmation that the militia continued to practice ethnic cleansing and commit war crimes and crimes against humanity as not contradictory.
Awad stressed that the insurgent RSF Militia’s commitments to protect civilians are false promises that have no value, underlining that the militia commits crimes against civilians with premeditation and determination.
Just Wishes and Daydreams
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister underestimated, during the interview, the militia’s allegations on opening the airports of Zalingei, Geneina and Neyala in the Darfur Region, and said sarcastically, “Just Wishes and Daydreams”, explaining that entering the airspace and using the airports of countries has strict controls in international law and aviation security rules, and there is no country or international organization that risks exposing its aircraft and pilots to danger by violating those rules.
In response to a question about the government’s current position on consulting with America, the Foreign Minister said, “if the United States is keen and serious about exploring ways to implement the Jeddah Declaration, then we are ready.
The War Path
The Minister of Foreign Affairs revealed that there is a full conviction among all negotiating partners that what is currently required is to see the commitments of the Jeddah Declaration implemented on the ground, after which the next step can be taken.
Regarding the ongoing war and international alliances, the Minister said that the path of the war is now controlled by the heroism and sacrifices of the Sudanese Armed Forces despite the external support the rebel militia receives in the form of weapons and mercenaries.
Relationship with Iran
Foreign Minister Hussein Awad touched on Sudan’s relations with Iran and Turkey and said that relations are now at their best. With respect to Iran, the minister said that the government has resumed resident diplomatic representation at the ambassadorial level, and there is a joint will to compensate for the interruption of cooperation between the two countries in the past years.
As for Turkey, Sudan appreciates its firm stance with the people of Sudan in light of the humanitarian conditions created by the war imposed upon us, and also its political support, which is expressed by the arrival of a new Turkish ambassador in Port Sudan who had the honor of presenting his credentials to President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) a few days ago.
Speaking about the relationship with Egypt, Awad said that the recent meeting that brought him together with the new Egyptian Foreign Minister gave a strong boost to the fraternal relations between the two countries, and during it it was agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in all fields and to develop a joint vision to confront the challenges facing the two countries, considering that the security of the two countries is indivisible.

In a related context, the minister affirmed his participation in important international and regional activities during the past period, which represented a good opportunity to make Sudan’s voice heard internationally, clarify the facts and gain support for the government’s positions, and he continued: “Their positive outcome will appear soon.”
In another context, the Sudanese Foreign Minister revealed that there is an active movement to fill the vacancy in Sudan’s missions abroad according to the priorities of Sudan’s diplomatic relations.
