76 civilians killed and injured in outlaw RSF militia artillery shelling of crowded market in Omdurman

Khartoum state authorities announced the killing of 15 civilians and the injury of 61 others in Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia artillery shelling of a crowded market north of Omdurman.

It is noteworthy that the insurgent RSF militia targeted the Sabreen Market area in Al-Thawra suburb north of Omdurman several times in less than a week, resulting in deaths and injuries.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, Mohamed Ibrahim, said that 15 civilians, including children and women, were killed and 61 others were injured as a result of Monday’s artillery shelling by the militia on Sabreen Market in Karari Locality, noting that there are cases of death and injury that have not reached the hospitals of Al-Naw, Sawaed and Al-Desougi and have not been counted yet.

According to eyewitnesses, regular forces rushed to shutdown Sabreen Market on Monday, which had enjoyed remarkable commercial activity, after it was subjected to repeated artillery shelling.
Sudan Tribune correspondent reported that the Sudanese army’s air force responded by launching airstrikes targeting the rebel RSF militia sites in the Halfaya neighborhood, north of Khartoum Bahri. The correspondent saw columns of smoke rising from several sites in Halfaya.
