Sudanese Government: “UAE Cannot Serve as an Honest Party”

Sudan’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mawiya Osman Khalid, affirmed that the Government of Sudan remains genuinely committed and firmly determined to achieve a just and comprehensive peace—one that safeguards Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while fulfilling the aspirations of its people for dignity, justice, and the restoration of rights, as articulated in the address delivered by President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, to the military leadership.

Speaking to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the Undersecretary stated that the Government of Sudan has consistently remained open to all serious and credible initiatives aimed at ending the war ignited by the terrorist Al-Dagalo militia, which has received extensive military and political support from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and assistance from certain neighbouring countries.

He asserted in his statement to SUNA that the United Arab Emirates—through its continued waging of a comprehensive, hostile war against Sudan—cannot be considered a trustworthy party in any effort aimed at establishing peace and stability.

He called upon the UAE to immediately halt its interventions and cease its support to the terrorist militia it employs to kill Sudanese civilians, terrorize communities, and destroy the nation’s resources and institutions.

The Foreign Ministry Undersecretary reaffirmed Sudan’s welcome of the efforts of the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to establish a just peace in Sudan.

He praised the proposal the Crown Prince presented during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, describing it as reflective of the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Sudanese people and reinforcing regional and international endeavours aimed at ending the war and achieving peace.

He further affirmed the Sudanese Government’s readiness to engage constructively in this path in a manner that leads to a just and sustainable peace.
