The Sudanese Hypertension Association said that 44% of Sudanese suffer from the disease, attributing the matter to tensions and psychological pressures, increased obesity and lack of physical activity that citizens are experiencing as a result of wars.
Health Minister Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim acknowledged, during a press conference for the association, that deaths occurred during the war and displacement due to complications of the disease and the lack of treatment.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Association, Hind Mamoun, warned of heart attacks, heart muscle dysfunction and retinal problems due to high blood pressure.
