Yasir Al-Atta Reaffirms the National Character of the Army and the Coming Decisive Battle
Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces General Yasir Abdulrahman Al-Atta reaffirmed the national character of the armed forces in an address to troops stationed on the front lines yesterday.
He stated that all members of the military are equal in rights and duties, stressing that there is no place for regionalism or racism within the establishment.
Al-Atta described the armed forces as a national establishment whose duty is to protect citizens and safeguard their dignity and property, rejecting misleading claims by the rebel militia that the army’s advance toward Kordofan is motivated by revenge.
He asserted that such narratives represent enemy propaganda aimed at mobilizing children and pushing them into committing fabricated crimes.
The Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces concluded by heralding upcoming victories for the Sudanese Armed Forces, pledging to secure West Kordofan and the Darfur states, protect civilians and hold offenders accountable under the law and justice.
