Violent clashes erupt between Abdelaziz Al-Hilu’s forces and Janjaweed in the Nuba Mountains
Violent clashes broke out between Abdelaziz Al-Hilu’s militia and the Janjaweed militia in the Al-Gardud area of South Kordofan, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.
The clashes erupted when the Janjaweed militia attempted to steal and loot cattle belonging to residents of Al-Qardud area, which is under the control of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).
Four SPLM-N fighters were killed when they confronted the militia, and several members of both sides sustained serious injuries.
Local sources reported that the militia managed to kill four SPLM-N soldiers and seize two vehicles.
Following the clashes, an SPLM-N force arrived, pursued the Janjaweed, and recovered the two vehicles. The Janjaweed were then pursued to the road linking Dilling, Habeela, and the al-Ratrat area.
