US Moves at UN Security Council to Push for Humanitarian Truce in Sudan

In renewed US diplomatic efforts aimed at imposing a humanitarian truce in Sudan, US presidential adviser Massad Boulos met with permanent representatives at the United Nations Security Council to discuss the escalating crisis.

Boulos expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet with Council members to discuss the crisis and ways to advance de-escalation efforts. In a post on X, he stated that reaching a truce, supported by a UN-established mechanism, would allow humanitarian aid to reach affected civilians and open the way for a comprehensive Sudanese–Sudanese dialogue.

He stressed that the Sudanese people deserve security, dignity, and a future free from fear, calling for urgent international action to halt escalation and support efforts to end the humanitarian crisis.
