Urgent… Sudan severs relations with UAE, designating it an “aggressor” state

⭕ Statement from the Security and Defense Council
1. For more than two years, the entire world has been following the crime of aggression against Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its citizens perpetrated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and its local proxy, the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and its political backer.
2. When the UAE became certain of the defeat of its local proxy, vanquished by our armed forces, the legitimate institution entrusted with defending the nation and preserving its resources, it escalated its support and deployed more of its capabilities to supply the rebellion with advanced strategic weapons.
3. It has continued to target vital facilities and service facilities in the country, most recently targeting oil and gas depots, Portsudan port and airport, power plants, and hotels, jeopardizing the lives and property of millions of civilians, threatening regional and international security, particularly the security of the Red Sea.
4. In the wake of this ongoing aggression, the Security and Defense Council decided the following:
– Declare the United Arab Emirates an aggressor state.
– Sever diplomatic relations with it.
– Withdraw the Sudanese Embassy and Consulate General.
5. In accordance with the text and spirit of Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which grants states the right to self-defense, Sudan reserves the right to respond to aggression by all means necessary to preserve the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, ensure the protection of civilians, and ensure the continued delivery of humanitarian aid.
6. The Council commends the efforts of the Sudanese people, their armed forces, the police, security forces, the joint forces, and the popular resistance, and reassures the Sudanese nation that the state is capable of deterring aggression and preserving the country’s security.
7. May Allah Almighty keep Sudan honorable, dignified, proud, stable, and victorious.
