Unknown Explosions Terrorize Nyala, South Darfur
Eyewitnesses and local sources reported on Saturday that a number of families were displaced inside Nyala, South Darfur, due to unidentified drone attacks on several locations within the city.
Eyewitnesses told Darfur 24 that approximately 15 families were displaced from the Musaya suburb, south of Nyala, following the bombing of the student dormitory last week.
One witness stated that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has transformed the buildings of Nyala University in the Musaya suburb into barracks and military gatherings for mobilized personnel and recruits since the beginning of this year.
He suggested that the militia may have installed jamming devices in the Musaya suburb, noting that the university headquarters is located only meters away from the university’s public housing.
Other witnesses told Darfur 24 that the militia prevented citizens from approaching the site of the explosion, which destroyed parts of the university’s dormitory last Saturday. They noted that they saw a “Bocklin” machine extracting people from under the rubble, “and their fate is unknown; whether they were alive or not.”
