(UAE and Militia) Agree to Turkey’s Mediation… Al-Burhan Welcomes

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has welcomed the initiative offered by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

This came during his meeting on Saturday with the Turkish President’s Envoy and Deputy Foreign Minister Burhanettin Duran, who stressed, for his part, Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and his country’s support for all regional and international initiatives that address the Sudanese crisis.

Duran explained that the initiative requires concerted efforts, bringing together regional actors and overcoming difficulties in the issue of ending the conflict in Sudan.

Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Youssef Al-Sharif said, in press statements, that the initiative proposed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is very important, and that the TSC President got acquainted with it, and told to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey to convey the Sudanese leadership’s welcome to it to President Erdogan and the Turkish Foreign Minister, who is in charge of its details.

Dr. Al-Sharif continued by saying, “We believe that this visit has its consequences in the direction of strongly supporting relations in the coming stage, and Sudan needs brothers and friends like Türkiye.”

The Foreign Minister pointed out that the Turkish initiative could lead to real efforts to achieve peace in Sudan.
Meanwhile, military expert Major General (retired) Amin Ismail Majzoub said, “The coming days will be decisive militarily and politically in Sudan.” He confirmed to “Al-Hadath Al-Arabiya channel” that the army’s strategy for a military resolution goes hand in hand with the strategy of responding to initiatives.

Majzoub revealed that the Turkish initiative to mediate between Sudan and the Emirates was accepted by the militia and Abu Dhabi, and asserted that the militia is facing many problems, most notably the loss of leadership and control over the forces, the drying up of supply lines, and that it has lost many influential leaders.

He explained that each group of the militia is trying to save itself in addition to the lack of motivation of the forces, and said that the armed forces have begun the process of breaking the bones of the militia by striking control centers in the cities and villages surrounding Al-Gezira, revealing that the army has changed the balance of battle amidst significant progress that will liberate Al-Gezira and many areas in the capital, Khartoum.
