Trillions of Counterfeit Currency Seized in Khartoum

Khartoum State has disclosed the seizure of trillions of counterfeit currency in three localities, in preparation for its transfer to areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

The official spokesman for the Khartoum government and Director General of the Ministry of Information, Al-Tayib Saad Al-Din, told Ultra Sudan that security forces seized huge sums of money, estimated at “trillions,” that were intended to pay the salaries of RSF soldiers and transfer the remaining amount to areas under the militia’s control.

He pointed out that the militia stole all the printing presses in the state and gathered them in eight locations located in three localities: Khartoum, East Nile, and Jebel Awliya.

An intelligence force seized currency machines stolen from the Khartoum Mint, which were used to print trillions of counterfeit currency, in preparation for its transfer to areas under the RSF’s control.

Saad El-Din confirmed that the RSF militia had stolen large quantities of banknotes from the Khartoum Mint printing presses, as well as banknotes from the Khartoum State branch of the Bank of Sudan, near the Constitutional Court, and huge sums of salary payments that were intended for distribution to the states.
