They prefer ready-made meals,…Sudanese immigrant women … An appeal to come back to (asida), (kisra) and (gurasa)

America:Howayda Awad Allah

Since ancient times, Sudan has been famous for a specialized food culture and a special type of food that includes sorgum and wheat that are ground and turned into flour and then made into (Kisra), (Asida) or (Gurasa). Several studies and research have proven that this type of food is more beneficial to the body, so the rate of diseases among Sudanese people in previous times was low compared to what is happening now, as the rate of infection with what is known as modern diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cancers has increased, and this is evident from the percentage of deaths, which research has confirmed that the causes are changing the food pattern in Sudan, as food has recently been associated with bread that has been introduced with many improvers that are nothing but carcinogenic substances. Statistics have indicated that rural areas that still rely on the old food pattern have a low death rate compared to areas that depend on bread, processed edible oils and imported types of foods such as (pizza, hot dogs, burgers, Indomie and chips), as well as many types of unhealthy foods. Also in addition to types of hydrogenated oils manufactured with preservatives, which directly affect human health.

But what is worrying is that Sudanese immigrant women in many countries of immigration have come to prefer the ready-made food style for its ease of preparation, as it is considered a ready-made food that is easy to eat and manufacture. The Sudanese immigrant woman who abandoned the diet known in Sudan forgot that this type of food caused a lot of diseases.

To avoid these diseases, we and immigrant women must think about returning to our diets represented by (asida), (kisra) and (gurasa). Thus we would have preserved our nutritious and healthy Sudanese food culture that can be eaten at any time and in any place without fear of any harm or unhealthy results
