They had criminal records and marginal professions …RSF Militia Leaders.. between Dead, Wounded and Recalcitrant (1-6)

Report: Ali Mansour

Since ancient times, the military leader has borne the responsibilities of fighting, and several factors may combine in the success of the leader and thus the success of his forces in winning battles. In the case of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia, leaders are not chosen randomly, as they are leaders according to a tribal system, always relying on the elements of his tribe in war and they have tribal influence. So when the militia loses its leaders, it is difficult to replace them. The Rapid Support lost important leaders in its war against the Sudanese people, some of whom were killed, others were injured, while a third group moved away due to internal disputes as a result of competition over leadership or a feeling of marginalization and greed for spoils at other times, which caused a weakening of the grip and control over the members of the militia, which turned into armed robbery gangs, whose concern is (Shafshafa), which is a term that is considered one of the secretions of this war.

Through this report, we discuss in a series of models of these leaders, focusing on their influence and backgrounds about their biographies.

Major General (Khala) Mudawi Dhay Al-Nour

(“Khala” is a term used to describe an RSF officer who has a military rank without going to the Sudanese Military Academy or any other military college and may be illiterate.)

Madawi Hussein Dhay Al-Nour, the former director of the RSF militia’s intelligence and commander of the eastern sector, was killed in clashes with the army on Al-Hawa Street in Khartoum on the first days of the war. Major General (Khala) Mudawi Hussein belongs to the Mahariya clan and is the brother of the chieftain of Rizeigat tribe in South Darfur State Ali Hussein Dhay Al-Nour. He has another brother who holds the position of mayor (omdah) of the Mahariya, the offsprings of Gaid (Awlad Gaid) in the state. Mudawi began his life as a butcher in the “Malja” market in Neyala before joining the Popular Police as a guard and then working as commercial camels escort to Libya. When Hemedti established the Al-Waad Al-Sadiq movement affiliated with the Border Guards in 2006, Mudawi Hussein was granted the rank of Non-commissioned officer in the movement and remained a close associate of Hemedti even when he rebelled against the government and returned to it again. When the RSF Militia was formed, he was granted the rank of colonel and appointed commander of the Al-Gaili camp. On June 8, 2019, Hemedti appointed him director of the RSF Intelligence, succeeding Major General Mohamed Abdullah and then he was appointed commander of the eastern sector. He is considered the third man in the RSF after the brothers Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and Abdel-Rahim Hamdan Dagalo, and he is related by marriage to the Dagalo.

Colonel (Khala) Ali Hamid

Colonel (Khala) Ali Hamid Al-Tahir, known as (Eleiyo), is the second commander of the Kutum area. He is considered one of the most active militia leaders in North Darfur, where he is active in mobilization operations, and has great capabilities in raising the enthusiasm of his forces, as he is one of the Hadiyin (popular poets) and was killed in the battles of Al-Fashir.

Banjos and Darisa

Mohammed Adam Banjos is the one who supervised the reconciliation procedures between the Bani Halba and Salamat tribes in Umm Dukhun, and the purpose for which the reconciliation was concluded was to support the RSF militia with forces from the two tribes. When the deceased Mohamed Adam Banjos, who held the rank of brigadier general in the militia, accomplished the reconciliation, the recording of Ali Yaqoub Jibril appeared in which he called for the support of the two tribes, Bani Halba and Salamat.
Banjos completed his diabolical plan, hoping that the youth of Bani Halba and Salamat would devote themselves to the war in El-Fashir, but Banjos found his fate in El-Fashir, which he was planning to invade.

As for Masoud Darisa, who also held the rank of brigadier general, he was also active among the native administrations, and he was one of those who worked most on the file of mobilizing the youth of the Northern Rizeigat, offspring of Rashid (Awlad Rashid) and Al-Ereigat. These two were like snakes injected their venom into the body of the homeland.
